About St Piran’s School Hayle
St Piran's School is a small school with big ideas; we believe that within our small classes we should offer our pupils the widest possible range of opportunities from the start of their education.
We spend a lot of time exploring the world outside the classroom, using the school minibus to extend the range of our outings and undertaking residential trips in Key Stages 2, 3 and 4. We also invite the world into our classrooms and welcome visitors from a range of organisations to share experiences with our pupils.
Our Philosophy
- we believe that children learn well if they are happy
- pupils are encouraged to become confident in their ability to learn
- we offer a range of teaching and learning strategies to develop pupils' confidence
- pupils are challenged to develop their talents and skills and we celebrate success
- we believe that our school should establish a life-long love of learning
Our school’s main strengths lie in:
- small class sizes that allow individual attention
- creating a family atmosphere that encourages respect for the individual
- including pupils from Reception to Year 11 in whole school events and assemblies
- working in partnership with parents
- setting high standards academically and achieving the best outcome for the individual
- our ability to adapt the curriculum to individual needs
- holding various events in our school and taking part in sporting and cultural events in the locality
